dieFirma announces An Unquiet House, Kati Henning’s debut solo exhibition on view at 32A Cooper Square from Thursday, April 30 through Saturday, July 25, 2026. 

Referencing dollhouses and painted film backdrops, this series of paintings showcases sites of imagination and world-building, spaces that bridge the gap between veracity and fantasy. A reflection of the dissolving illusion of the American dream, these works afford us a glimpse around the façade, where edges are beginning to molder, revealing the inner rot. At a moment where many are awakening to the precarity of their daily existence, we sense the floorboards decaying below our feet.

Kati Henning

Kati Henning was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1983 and grew up in the rural areas of Union County. She studied at Ohio Wesleyan University, receiving her BFA, with a focus in painting, in 2006. After earning her degree, she worked in and out of the art industry, including teaching art lessons for over a decade and managing a non-profit art center and studio space. Henning began focusing on her studio career full-time in 2022.
