Join photographer Martha Naranjo Sandoval for a photo zine workshop that inspires creativity and helps bring your photographic ideas to life. Bring your own images from family albums, Instagram posts or any other source of your choosing, and leave with a physical dummy of your own photo zine. Explore the visual language of photography, the importance of layout and sequence, and learn how images can work together to tell a unique story.

What to bring: 60 printed photos (4x6” or comparable size) *Please don’t bring digital files.

Martha Naranjo Sandoval is a Brooklyn-based visual artist and publisher from Mexico City. She often uses obsolete technology to create art and build her work upon family recordings such as home videos, family albums and travel postcards. Her practice focuses on vernacular photography and the importance of remembering daily life. She is also a co-founder Matarile Ediciones, an editorial project that publishes work by immigrant and diaspora artists. Her solo exhibition, The Stench of Orange Blossoms, is currently on display at Miriam Gallery until March 11, 2023.
