Printing the Future: Intro to Risograph
Date and Time: Saturday, December 17th 2022, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

This hands-on, interactive workshop taught by exhibition curator and artist Panayiotis Terzis will introduce participants to the basics of the Risograph printing process as used by artists and designers. Terzis will guide the class through a variety of print design techniques by scanning collage materials such as drawings and photographs. Each participant will leave the session with a small edition of 10-20 prints of their own creation. The session will include a guided tour of the exhibition led by Terzis, as well as a short talk about his practice.
This workshop takes place at dieFirma Riso Studio, in conjunction with Printing the Future: The Riso Revolution currently on view at our basement gallery at 32 Cooper Square.
Ages 18 and up.
Participants can bring their own drawing tools, or a previously created line art drawing that they can use as the basis for a print.

ABOUT PANAYIOTIS TERZIS:
Terzis is an artist, printer and publisher based in New York. He is the founder of the Riso studio Mega Press. In 2015, Pan co-founded the RisoLAB, a Risograph studio based at the School of Visual Arts in New York, where he manages the lab, designs the curriculum and serves as a faculty member.
His work has been published by Nieves, Fantagraphics, Landfill Editions, Vice Magazine, and others, and he has been exhibited across the US and internationally including at the Elizabeth Foundation, Printed Matter Inc., the Swiss Institute, the Pera Museum (Istanbul), Andreas Melas Presents (Athens, Greece) and the Greek Consulate in New York. His artist books, zines and print editions are in the collection of the MoMA Library, the Brooklyn Museum, the New York Public Library and the collection of Stanford University.
His studio practice is represented by Good Naked Gallery, NYC.

If you are already registered (and have paid) for a workshop that is cancelled, your whole registration amount will be refunded. If you request to withdraw from a workshop 48 hours or more before the day of the workshop, dieFirma will refund the Workshop Fee and any Supply Fee minus a 15% processing fee.
